Frequently asked questions
Pre-Booking Questions
Are children allowed on the tours?
Yes! We love having kids on our tours, however, the minimum required age on bike tours 14 is years old.
For families with children under 14, we recommend booking a Private Tour here.
How big are the groups?
We are proud to keep our group sizes smaller than other companies. Our bike tours are capped at 10 participant (the average group size is always around 7 or 8). For groups larger than 10 people, please contact us for a private tour quote.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, booking in advance is required. Our tours typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.
What if the tour is sold out on the date I want?
If a date and time is sold out, there is always a good chance that we will add an additional tour on that day. Please contact us to let us know what date you are interested in if you do not see availability.
During the Tour
What should I bring with me?
Please bring your own water bottle – you can refill on route.
A baseball cap to wear under the helmet that we provide is recommended.
There will be plenty of photo opportunities, so do not forget your camera.
A bit of cash always comes in handy, to tip the guides or in case you want to buy a snack along the way, even though most of the places accept credit cards as well.
Do I need to tip?
Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry in Canada is around 10-15%. We recommend offering your guide around $10 per person if you enjoyed the tour!
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected break points. There’s a bathroom at our meeting point, we recommend you If you need to go during the ride, just signal to your guide and they will find a spot.
What language do you speak on the tours?
The tours run in english, but as you probably know, Montreal is a french/english bilingual city and so are all our guides. Please contact us if you want your tour to be run in other language than english. We can offer private tours in french, spanish and a few other languages. Merci, gracias, danke!
Weather
What do we do in case of rain or bad weather?
Our bike tours run rain or shine.
Only exceptionally a tour will get cancelled, if our team evaluates that the conditions are not safe to ride or to enjoy the experience.
Since the weather in Montreal changes very drastically and very often (we’re on a island!), if we have to cancel a tour, it will always be in person, at the meeting point, a couple of minutes before the departure (never in advance).
If your tour gets cancelled due to bad weather, no worries, you’ll get a full refund (or get re-scheduled on the next one if you preffer).
So the rule is: even if it rains, come to the meeting point on time. There’s a very high chance that your tour will happen!
